Michael and I are most excited about our wedding favor idea. Let me describe it to you:
A box from SuperDawg (a famous local hot dog shop) with a variety of Chicagoesque souvinirs inside, including but not limited to:
-first thing: a card with a map of chicago on one side and a sort of "table of contents", map guide on the back...with a little rivet and bow. on the table of contents will be a decription of the meaning of each item. This will be a little history lesson for our guests.
1. A tiny bottle of booze. (on the card we will talk a little about the Chicago Prohibition days and the fact that Club Lucky was a speak easy!)
2. A book of Matches (card will mention mrs. the great Chicago Fire)
3. Lemonheads, jawbreakers and tootsie rolls (all made in Chicago!)
4. Handmade (my specialty, unless sarah and lyd are "helping...glu glug glug") bottle cap magnets with pics of Chicago and maybe one of me and Michaels beautiful little faces.
we have a few more ideas for the favors, but those are the definites. any other ideas p-nut gallery?
P.s. Lydia: Do you think you could wear assless chaps? I know Scooter mentioned to Michael that he wanted to wear these as well.

Anyway, I'm going to do my little bio here since I don't know where I'm supposed to do it.
I'm Ryan Hurley...youngest of the Hurley family, but still considered an old fart at 22 years of age. In college going to UW-Stout and my major is Information Technology Management. Interests include: Breaking my brother's ankles in basketball (Michael is obviously my brother), also beating him constantly in bowling on PS3 (I'm a gamer), and playing sports (anything besides baseball).

Yes, Hi, Grandma Shannon here. Let's just be clear on these few things before any of you get any wrong ideas about me:
A) I am not cool. I get my only coolness from association so I am ultra-excited at the prospect of the amount of associated-coolness that will be headed my way over the next several months.
B) I am old. Now, I'm aware that many of you may be nearing my age, at least within a decade, but how many of you have been married for lots & lots o'years and have 3 amazingly-awesome-yet-wildly-draining children...wait, Scooter, you may have me beat. Point is, 35 looks a lot different when you haven't slept since you were 24.
C) I may be not cool and I may be old, but, as is the Hurley way, I am still damn hot, which leads to #C, I AM married, so don't flirt with me...seriously, it's such a problem. As a side note, admittedly, my hotness is in a different category than my sister's hotness. I'm in the "Wow-you're-not-half-bad-for-a-mother-of-3" category, while Erin has a whole separate supermodel section named "Ridiculously beautiful". We don't look very much alike and yes, that sucks butt.
PS-Melmo, you gotta change my last name to DeShambo or Child is gonna have some words with you. lol
D) I tend to drone on and on while emailing or blogging...or talking, now that I think of it.
E) I like wine. But there will be little to no drunken partying from my end...if you can't understand why, please re-read A and B.
F) I am SO excited about this wedding and this marriage and this wonderful addition to our family...couldn't be happier that you two found each other!
Another side note: Be aware that because I am not cool, I am capable of major cheesiness and warm fuzzies.

I can't wait to see these favors... are you going to post pics once you finish certain elements... and what happend to incorpperating a penny since it's your old last name and Chicago is the "Land o Lincoln"
